Kjašif Smajlović: the journalist who did not leave Zvornik and was killed in his newspaper office
Kjašif Smajlović, the Zvornik correspondent of the Sarajevo daily Oslobođenje, stayed in the town after Serb police, military and paramilitary forces seized it on 8 April 1992, and kept sending reports until the last moment. He was killed in the correspondent's office, and his remains were identified only in 2016 in the Kazanbašča mass grave. To this day no one has been indicted for his killing.
