About the project

genociders.com is a memorial and documentary archive of the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina, 1992–1995. It brings together the stories of people, events, military units and places in one place, categorised and tagged so they can be found quickly, in several languages.

A testimony for future generations

The archive bears witness to the suffering of the Bosniak people and to the genocide committed by the aggressor forces – primarily those of Serbia and Croatia, and above all the armed formations of the Bosnian Serbs and Bosnian Croats – against their Bosniak neighbours. It also openly names the failures of parts of the international community.

How the stories are written

Every story is based on sources – testimonies, books, press articles and court documents – which are listed beneath it. The texts do not invent facts and do not relativise the crimes. Where sources differ, both versions are given.

We write the stories with dignity and factual accuracy, in respect for the victims and their families.
