U maju 1992. bošnjački muškarci bili su tri dana zatočeni u fiskulturnoj sali Osnovne škole „Vuk Karadžić“ u Bratuncu, gdje su tučeni, gušili se i ubijani. Prema svjedocima, prva ubistva počinili su pripadnici paravojne jedinice Željka Ražnatovića Arkana, a kasnije i lokalni vojnici; Udruženje logoraša Bratunca procjenjuje da je ubijeno oko 300 zatočenika.

According to the testimony of a boy from Cerovac in the Hranča area, Serb forces attacked his village on 9 May 1992, and he was taken with other Bosniak men to the gymnasium of the "Vuk Karadžić" Primary School in Bratunac, where detainees were beaten and killed. After three days the survivors were transferred to a camp in Pale, and on 16 May 1992 they crossed into territory controlled by the ARBiH near Ilijaš.
