Dvanaestog aprila 1993. poslijepodne granate ispaljene s položaja VRS pale su na školsko igralište u Srebrenici tokom nogometnog turnira. Prema zvaničnim podacima, na mjestu je ubijeno 74 bošnjačka civila i ranjeno oko 100 ljudi, a ukupan broj žrtava navodi se do 105; drugi izvori daju drugačije brojke. Zvanična istraga nikada nije provedena i niko nije suđen.

On 12 April 1993, shells fired from positions of the Vojska Republike Srpske fell on a school playground in besieged Srebrenica, where a football tournament was being held and where mostly children and young people had gathered. According to official figures, 74 Bosniak civilians were killed at the scene, and the total number of victims is given as up to 105. No official investigation was ever conducted, and no one has been tried for the attack to this day.
